Studies show that centella asiatica powder isn't just a passing fad—it really does have benefits for skin, thanks to its active compounds, including madecassoside, which serves as an antioxidant.

In dermatology, Centella asiatica is effective in improving treatment of small wounds, hypertrophic wounds as well as burns, psoriasis and scleroderma.

It has good effect on Anti-inflammatory:

Terpenoids in centella asiatica herb can significantly increase the content of collagen and fibronectin in the cell layer (fibronectin is widely involved in cell migration, adhesion, proliferation, hemostasis and skin tissue repair), and can stimulate the production of type I collagen, which contributes to scar maturation, and reduce the production of inflammatory response.

The moisturizing activity of Centella asiatica extract:

It can significantly increase the hydration degree of cuticle, which is mainly related to the triterpenoid saponins in centella asiatica extract. The triterpenoid saponins in Centella asiatica extract are a kind of hydrophilic sugar chain, mainly glucose and rhamnose, which can bind with water in the occlusion layer, improve the epidermal barrier ability and enhance the skin moisture.

Among them, cosmetic preparations containing 5% asiaticoside had the best effect. Compared with the control group and placebo, the lotion containing 5% asiaticoside resulted in a 12% increase in the cuticle moisture and a 10% increase in the hydrogel containing 5% centella extract.
